Marty is a seasoned trainer focusing on de-escalation training with thousands of hours of facilitation over the last two decades. Of greatest note, Marty provides a wealth of “Trauma-informed” trainings, notably on “The Basics of Trauma-informed Care & Approaches,” “De-escalation & Personal Safety through a Trauma-informed Lens” and “Compassion Fatigue & Self-Care” for professionals representing a variety of areas.

Need to learn the fundamental principles of verbal de-escalation and understanding curriculum that is designed to identify several basic behavioral types and what manner of communication works best with each one? Need de-escalation techniques appropriate for nurses, teachers, law enforcement, counselors, and other professionals, individuals, and groups?

Marty has an abundance of training curriculum materials.  He is comfortable providing brief, one-time trainings or customizing content for larger-scale organizational needs. Of note, Marty is quite comfortable providing therapeutic, safe content addressing challenging subject matter. His trainings range in length; many are in the 2-4 hour range. As noted, he is quite amenable to adjusting content and durations to meet the needs of the group he is serving.

    • Trauma-informed emerging science series; including areas of neurobiology and Epigenetics (co-facilitated) trainings that focus on current research
  • De-escalation & Personal Safety Through a Trauma-informed Lens
  • Advanced De-escalation & Personal Safety Through a Trauma-informed Lens – this can include training on “Non-violent Physical Defense & Evasion” practices
  • Compassion Fatigue & Self-Care Basics for Professionals, namely those exposed to Secondary (Vicarious) Trauma – can be offered as a one-time training or a multi-event training/consultation
